HGTV Design Star Jennifer And Matt

Last week on HGTV Design Star 3, the final two of Jennifer Bertrand and Matt Locke faced off in their final challenge. Jennifer is a thirty-two year old artist and designer from Olathe, Kansas, while Matt is a thirty-eight year old interiors, furniture and lighting designer from Los Angeles, California.

Jennifer and Matt traveled to New Orleans in order to help two neighboring families. The families had their homes destroyed during Hurricane Katrina.

With only $20,000 and 36 hours, Jennifer and Matt had complete a new kitchen, dining room and living room areas for the families. While Matt went with a contemporary design, Jennifer used bold colors and dramatic design elements. Both families were very happy with the end results.

“Jennifer and Matt are fantastic designers and proved their skills as television hosts during the show’s intense design challenges,” said James Bolosh, who is HGTV’s vice president of event programming. “HGTV would be pleased to have either designer join our roster of network talent.”

While HGTV might be pleased with either designer, only one designer will win their own show on HGTV. The winner will be determined by viewer votes and will be announced on Sunday, August 3 at 9 PM ET/PT on HGTV. In addition to revealing the winner, the HGTV Design Star 3 season finale will also offer a reunion and highlights from the season.
